What you need to know about drain care

After surgery, your doctor may place one or more drains at the site of your wound to remove any excess fluid. Removing this fluid helps prevent infection and promotes faster healing. In this video (English and Spanish), our patient education team shows you how to care for your drain in the days following your procedure.
