Thomas Waddington, M.D.

I love to educate people. I enjoy working with my patients and teaching them about what the disease is they may have and what we are going to do about it.
Thomas Waddington, M.D., has known since age 5 that he was going to be a doctor.
A native Southern Californian, he specializes in the relatively new field of interventional pulmonology, using the most advanced tools to diagnose and treat lung cancer and other diseases. "I want to help those people who are fighting back or even those who've chosen hospice care and need help with their quality of life," he says.
Dr. Waddington received his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine and continued his training at University of California Irvine and Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. He completed a diverse series of fellowships in pulmonary and critical care, as well as interventional pulmonology.
Dr. Waddington has held a number of pulmonary care positions at prestigious facilities in San Diego, Phoenix and State College, Pennsylvania. He is excited to return to City of Hope where he spent part of 2005-2006 as a young trainee, and he welcomes the opportunity to focus on cancer care medicine within City of Hope's unique environment.
