Leslie Brewer, M.B.A. is associate vice president of marketing for City of Hope® Cancer Center Chicago, where she leads strategic marketing and communications initiatives that support City of Hope’s Chicago-area hospital and Illinois clinical locations. With two decades of health care leadership spanning a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, oncology and dentistry, Brewer is deeply committed to ensuring patients have access to the essential services they require.
At City of Hope, Brewer oversees omnichannel marketing and communications strategies that educate patients, our communities and clinical providers about advancements in oncology and elevate City of Hope’s reputation for providing leading-edge treatment. Her expertise spans growth marketing, brand positioning, digital strategy and patient engagement, leading to measurable impact and improved health care accessibility.
Brewer, who lost her father to cancer, understands the importance of cancer screening, prevention and speed to treatment. Among her accomplishments at City of Hope, she has helped expand on-site lung and breast cancer screening programs and played a key role in locally closing the cancer care gap by supporting the addition of clinical locations in Downtown Chicago and the North Shore.
Although Brewer took on her current role at City of Hope in 2024, she is no stranger to the organization. She previously spent 15 years in oncology marketing leadership for the same Chicago-area hospital prior to its transition to City of Hope, implementing programs that demonstrated improvement in brand loyalty. Before rejoining the organization, Brewer served as the vice president of marketing for Guardian Dentistry Partners, head of global marketing for plasma-derived services at Takeda Pharmaceutical Company and chief marketing officer for Familia Dental.
Brewer completed her undergraduate studies at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, and earned a Master of Business Administration in digital media and communication at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is Six Sigma certified, which reflects her commitment to operational efficiency and process improvement.
Passionate about giving back to her community, Brewer has been a big sister and board member for Big Brothers Big Siters of Metropolitan Chicago for nearly a decade, helping youth reach their full potential through mentorship and advocacy. In addition to having served on the American Cancer Society of Chicago Board of Ambassadors and the board of the Lake County Symphony Orchestra, she is currently president of the Lake Forest Club, a historic racquet, swim and social club in her hometown.
