Shannon Mennel M.H.A. is the director of physician relations at City of Hope® Cancer Center Chicago, where she oversees a wide range of educational and outreach initiatives designed to build stronger relationships with clinical providers, physicians and health care systems across Illinois, Southeast Wisconsin, Michigan and beyond.
Mennel and her team help further City of Hope’s vision of offering leading-edge cancer care to more patients in a variety of crucial ways. These include educational outreach initiatives for the local health care community, programs that boost collaboration between City of Hope clinicians and primary care physicians, strategies to improve and streamline patient care, and formal partnerships with key health care systems across the region. Mennel has played a key role in many recent successes, including the opening of the City of Hope North Shore location and key contributions to removing barriers to critical surgical care for patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mennel earned her master’s degree in health care administration from Syracuse University in New York state. Prior to joining City of Hope in 2020, she held positions with a number of health care organizations, including the American Heart Association and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, as well as a philanthropy-centered role with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
