As division chief and associate clinical professor in the Department of Supportive Care Medicine at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, Adeboye Ogunseitan, M.D., collaborates with patients and their families to help manage symptoms related to cancer and its treatments and improve patients’ quality of life.
Dr. Ogunseitan’s experiences caring for family members and friends with serious illnesses inspired him to pursue a career in palliative care. He earned his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed his residency at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. Board-certified in internal medicine as well as hospice and palliative medicine, Dr. Ogunseitan trained in palliative care at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
He has published papers on topics including palliative care regimens and building palliative care programs in Nigeria and provided clinical care and training in countries including Mexico, Belize and Saudi Arabia. Dr. Ogunseitan is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the International and American Associations for Hospice and Palliative Care and the Palliative Care Research Cooperative Group.
