Aileen Bui, M.D., is an assistant professor of gastroenterology at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, where she specializes in using minimally invasive procedures to help diagnose and treat a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions. Board-certified in both gastroenterology and internal medicine, Dr. Bui is an interventional endoscopist who brings deep knowledge of the latest innovations in her field to her work with every patient.
In her practice, Dr. Bui offers individualized, patient-centered care in the Los Angeles area, where she incorporates state-of-the-art endoscopic procedures designed to make a tangible impact on the lives of patients facing complex gastrointestinal diseases. She performs a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients with GI cancers at all stages of their disease, from screening and prevention to diagnosis and treatment.
As a scholar-physician, she is dedicated to pushing the boundaries in what is possible in minimally invasive care and advancing the field. Among the minimally invasive procedures she performs are ERCP, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound, advanced endoscopic resections, ablation, luminal stenting, dilation, and endoscopic suturing and defect closures. She has multiple peer-reviewed publications, is contributing to the field on a national level as a committee member for several leading national gastroenterology organizations, including the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and has been recognized with numerous awards from these organizations, including the Service Award for Colorectal Cancer Outreach, Prevention and Year-Round Excellence.
Dr. Bui earned her medical degree from the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She then completed her medical training in California, with an internal medicine residency at the University of California, Los Angeles, a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Southern California and a fellowship in advanced endoscopy at Stanford University.
