Allan V. Espinosa-Morazán, M.D., is a board-certified, bilingual hematologist-oncologist who provides compassionate, comprehensive care to patients receiving treatment for a wide range of cancer types at City of Hope® Cancer Center Prescott in Arizona. Dr. Espinosa-Morazán was inspired to pursue oncology after developing an interest in thyroid and neuroendocrine tumors. However, in his clinical work, he most often treats patients diagnosed with diseases such as lung cancer, colorectal cancer and leukemia.
Dr. Espinosa-Morazán earned his medical degree from the Universidad Americana in Nicaragua, then moved to the United States to pursue a postdoctoral program in thyroid cancer research at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, where he also served an assistant professor in the endocrine oncology division. He stayed to complete his residency in internal medicine, then completed his hematology-oncology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
A clinician and researcher, Dr. Espinosa-Morazán has held positions at the Jefferson Cary Cancer Center in Caribou, Maine, and an Arizona oncology group. He has been involved in multiple clinical trials focusing on treatments for thyroid or neuroendocrine disorders and has published research in numerous leading medical journals. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncologists and the American Medical Association and is fluent in English and Spanish.
