Carolyn Chudy, D.O., is a board-certified physiatrist at City of Hope Sand Canyon in Irvine, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Supportive Care Medicine. She is dedicated to helping patients restore function, reduce pain and return to the activities that bring meaning to their lives. Whether helping someone get back to sports, spend time with grandchildren or simply enjoy walking without pain, Dr. Chudy focuses on improving quality of life through personalized, evidence-based care.
Inspired by her own experiences as a competitive gymnast recovering from injuries, Dr. Chudy developed an early fascination with how the body heals and moves. She specializes in non-surgical approaches whenever possible, working closely with therapists and other specialists to create individualized treatment plans that address the root cause of each patient’s symptoms.
Dr. Chudy’s passion for cancer rehabilitation began during medical school while completing a rotation at City of Hope. Additional training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center reinforced her commitment to helping patients maintain function, manage pain and preserve independence throughout cancer treatment and recovery. She values listening first, recognizing that every patient has unique goals, experiences and circumstances that guide their care.
