An assistant clinical professor of medical oncology and therapeutics research at City of Hope®Cancer Center Duarte, Keng Lam, M.D., is a physician-scholar dedicated to treating nervous system and brain tumors, including leptomeningeal disease, neurofibromatosis and gliomas.
Board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Lam is a neuro-oncologist in the Los Angeles area who believes in building a compassionate, trusting relationship with each patient and acting as his or her adviser and advocate during treatment.
After earning his medical degree at the University of California-Davis School of Medicine in Sacramento, Dr. Lam completed his residency in adult neurology at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles, followed by a fellowship in neuro-oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the Society of Neuro-Oncology.
Dr. Lam’s research, covering topics such as IDH-mutant astrocytoma and leptomeningeal disease, has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals. He speaks fluent Spanish and Cantonese, as well as conversational Mandarin.
