Mazen Khattab, M.D., C.P.E., joined City of Hope® in 2023. As a medical oncologist and hematologist, Dr. Khattab focuses his practice on the treatment and management of all types and stages of cancer, with specialized expertise in breast, lung, gastrointestinal malignancies and hematologic conditions. With the wide array of resources that City of Hope devotes to patient care and innovation, Dr. Khattab incorporates the latest treatments, according to the NCCN guidelines, and remains abreast of new protocols and clinical trials.
After receiving his medical degree from University of Damascus, Faculty of Medicine, he pursued an internal medicine residency at the Northeast Ohio Medical University, where he was recognized as intern of the year and received an award for excellence in patient care. Dr. Khattab then completed fellowship training in hematology and oncology at Allegheny Health Network. He is currently triple board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology.
He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Physicians, American Society of Hematology and American Society of Clinical Oncology. He also serves as a physician advisor to many industry partners in the field of oncology, as a resource in the development of clinical trials and innovations in treatments and improvements in patient safety.
