Nicolas Gallegos, M.D., is a board-certified pathologist at City of Hope® Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, specializing in anatomic and clinical pathology, with additional certification in cytopathology. Dr. Gallegos’ passion for medicine began early, fueled by an inquisitive nature and a deep interest in the cellular and biochemical processes that govern human health. His choice of pathology reflects his love for visualizing what most only read about in textbooks, and his commitment to ensuring accurate diagnoses that guide optimal patient care.
Dr. Gallegos earned his medical degree from the University of California San Diego School of Medicine and completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of California Irvine Medical Center, followed by fellowships in cytopathology and surgical pathology. He has served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at UC Irvine and currently practices as a surgical pathologist, providing expert consultation in gynecologic pathology across multiple Southern California hospitals.
A native of Southern California, Dr. Gallegos has lived and worked in Orange County for nearly a decade. His philosophy centers on treating every specimen with the same care he would expect for his own loved ones. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, and exploring hidden local gems.
