Nitya Nathwani, M.D., is an associate professor and a board-certified hematologist in the Division of Myeloma at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte. He’s also the medical director of hematologic malignancies, transplantation and cellular therapy for AccessHope™, a telemedicine service that allows employers to connect employees with City of Hope’s leading-edge cancer care teams.
Dr. Nathwani works closely with patients diagnosed with myeloma to ensure they receive compassionate, personalized care based on their individual diagnosis, health needs and wishes. He received his medical degree at Topiwala National Medical College in Mumbai, India, before completing an internship at Methodist Hospitals in Merrillville, Indiana. He then completed an internal medicine residency and hematology-oncology fellowship at LAC+USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, followed by a bone marrow transplantation fellowship at City of Hope.
In addition to having more than 20 peer-reviewed publications to his name, Dr. Nathwani is a member of professional organizations including the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, the Los Angeles County Medical Association and the American Society of Hematology. In addition to English, he speaks fluent Hindi.
