Omeed Alipour, M.D.

Omeed Alipour, M.D., is an interventional gastroenterologist at City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center with expertise in minimally invasive endoscopic techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic and biliary diseases. Inspired by his father, a cardiologist practicing in Orange County, and influenced by his own experiences as a patient, Dr. Alipour was drawn to a career rooted in compassionate, patient-centered care. He chose gastroenterology for its balance of complex clinical problem-solving and procedures that can deliver immediate benefit to patients, particularly in cancer prevention, screening, and treatment.

During his training at the University of Washington, Dr. Alipour spent time at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, where he developed a strong appreciation for the multidisciplinary approach and coordinated care model unique to comprehensive cancer centers. His clinical interests include endoscopic ultrasound, ERCP, endoscopic and EUS-guided stenting, complex polyp resection, and advanced endoscopic therapies that can help patients maintain nutrition and quality of life during treatment.

Dr. Alipour has contributed to national clinical guidelines through his work with the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and has been recognized multiple times as a top peer reviewer for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He values shared decision-making and strives to provide patients with clear information to support thoughtful, informed choices about their care. Dr. Alipour speaks Farsi at a conversational level and Spanish.
