Piers Pravdo, D.O., is a radiologist at City of Hope® Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center’s state-of-the-art radiology suites for advanced diagnostic imaging and precision cancer care.
Dr. Pravdo’s deep expertise in medical research includes co-authorship of a Nature Biotechnology paper on Cre-dependent AAV variants enabling efficient gene transfer to the adult brain that stemmed from his work as researcher at Caltech. He has also been involved in numerous studies focusing on molecular biology, virology, immunology and microscopy, resulting in multiple national and international conference presentations.
As a clinician and educator, he has served at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Pueblo Radiology Medical Group in Santa Barbara, California; and SJ Medical Group in Hemet, California. Prior to his medical career, he was a postdoctoral fellow researching gene therapy and worked in information technology, managing information security systems.
Dr. Pravdo served a breast imaging fellowship at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where was also an instructor. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania.
