Rakhshanda Neelam, M.D.

Rakhshanda Neelam, M.D., evaluates and treats a variety of solid tumors at City of Hope^® Cancer Center Chicago. She specializes in the treatment of all types of cancer, including breast cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer and hematological diseases.

Board certified in medical oncology, Dr. Neelam earned her medical degree from Fatima Jinnah Medical College in Pakistan. She then completed a residency in internal medicine at Edgewater Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, and a fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at the Chicago Medical School. Prior to joining City of Hope, Dr. Neelam held positions as an oncologist/hematologist at a number of hospitals.

Dr. Neelam is assiduous in staying current on state-of-the-art cancer therapies and committed to providing her patients with personalized and compassionate care. She takes the time to listen to her patients’ concerns and develops a treatment plan that is right for them. She also provides her patients with support and resources throughout their treatment journey.

Dr. Neelam’s calling to help others came with the support of her father, who encouraged her to practice medicine. As a doctor, she feels she is able to serve others and help make a difference in the lives of those fighting cancer. Dr. Neelam is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American College of Physicians.
