Samer Khaled, M.D., is a clinical professor of leukemia and the medical director of the Integrated Leukemia Service at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte. A nationally recognized physician-scholar, Dr. Khaled works closely with patients diagnosed with leukemia and other blood cancers, like myelodysplastic and bone marrow failure syndromes, to offer personalized treatment plans that take into account their concerns while ensuring they remain active participants in their care.

After completing his medical degree at Egypt’s Cairo University, Dr. Khaled pursued a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York City. He also completed a bone marrow transplantation fellowship at City of Hope, where he then spent a decade serving patients.

Dr. Khaled’s scholarship includes publishing multiple peer-reviewed articles and leading clinical trials focused on blood cancers and disorders, including pivotal research into transplant-associated microangiopathy and the use of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He has also helped oversee several multicenter international clinical trials. In addition to English, Dr. Khaled speaks fluent Arabic.
