As a breast medical oncologist at City of Hope® Cancer Center Atlanta, Sarah Friend, M.D., works closely with patients diagnosed with all types of breast cancer, including hormone-receptor positive, HER2-positive and triple-negative breast cancer.
Dr. Friend, who is triple board-certified in hematology, oncology and internal medicine, has expertise in a wide range of treatments, including immunotherapies, targeted therapies and antibody drug conjugates, and is committed to a transparent, compassionate approach to care that prioritizes her patients’ well-being during treatment and into survivorship.
After earning her medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee, Dr. Friend completed a residency in internal medicine at Orlando Regional Medical Center, followed by a hematology-oncology fellowship at the University of New Mexico Cancer Center in Albuquerque. She has published on her research in peer-reviewed journals and has been recognized for her clinical work with awards such as Emory University School of Medicine’s Palliative Care Champion Award during her nearly nine years there and inclusion on Georgia Trend Magazine’s list of “Top Oncologists.”
