Shan Yuan, M.D., has served as a physician in Transfusion Medicine at City of Hope since 2012, and is currently the Medical Director of the Blood Bank and Transfusion Services at the City of Hope Duarte campus. 
 
A multiple honors student dating back to her college days, Dr. Yuan received her medical degree from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina and completed her fellowship training in transfusion medicine at Bloodworks Northwest, formerly known as Puget Sound Blood Center, in Seattle, Washington.
 
Dr. Yuan has served as City of Hope's assistant medical director of transfusion medicine since 2012, following a five-year term in similar capacity at UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine. She is a sought-after lecturer and prolific publisher on all aspects of transfusion and stem cell transplants.
