As a physician, the goal of Yan Xing, M.D., Ph.D., is simple: to be there for her patients and their families “when they need it most.”
 
As an accomplished researcher, Dr. Xing goes further. She strives to improve cancer treatment and outcomes through rigorous data analyses to better determine which practices work best. She is also passionate about the potential of personalized medicine and new drug development, which she calls “essential to maximize the treatment outcome of cancer patients.”
 
Educated in China, Dr. Xing earned her medical degree at Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Sciences. Upon her arrival in the U.S. she received a Ph.D. in biostatistics from University of Texas School of Public Health. Continuing her medical training, Dr. Xing completed a fellowship in medical oncology at Houston Methodist Hospital, as well as a fellowship in Phase I clinical trials at MD Andersen Cancer Center.
 
Dr. Xing is delighted to be part of City of Hope's family. She appreciates the steadfast support given to the staff, and she admires the unmatched level of compassionate patient care.

I had assumed that in addition to getting a second opinion, that Dr Xing and the city of hope would provide the care that they recommended. That was not the case. I was told that she did not have a license to practice in my area and I would need to find a local oncologist to work with under Dr Xing's guidance.
