Dr. Fazeli's academic journey commenced with the attainment of his medical degree from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. His commitment to medical excellence led him to complete a residency in internal medicine at George Washington University. Subsequently, he pursued specialized training, including a general endocrinology fellowship at George Washington University and an oncologic endocrinology fellowship at the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
As an accomplished oncologic endocrinologist, Dr. Fazeli specializes in the comprehensive management of endocrine disorders and tumors. He holds board certifications in internal medicine and endocrinology and is certified in performing thyroid ultrasound-guided biopsies, thyroid nodule ablations, and systemic therapies for advanced thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal cancers. Dr. Fazeli serves as the Clinical Director of the Thyroid and Endocrine Cancer Program at City of Hope and maintains joint appointments in endocrinology and oncology, underscoring his commitment to upholding the highest standards of medical practice. Additionally, he is a member of several respected committees such as the International Thyroid Oncology Group (ITOG).
Dr. Fazeli's expertise encompasses a wide range of areas, including thyroid ablation modalities for the treatment of thyroid nodules and various stages of thyroid cancers, including differentiated, medullary, and anaplastic thyroid cancers. He adeptly addresses hereditary endocrine neoplasia disorders, parathyroid cancer, pituitary tumors, adrenal tumors, adrenocortical carcinoma, pheochromocytoma-paraganglioma syndromes, and endocrine complications arising from cancer therapies, such as immunotherapy-related endocrinopathies. Dr. Fazeli's particular interest lies in the latest advancements in the treatment of thyroid, adrenal, and neuroendocrine tumors, ensuring that he remains at the forefront of the ever-evolving field of endocrine neoplasia.
