Emily Fechner, P.A.-C., joined City of Hope® Cancer Care North Shore in November 2023 as a physician assistant with nearly a decade of frontline experience in internal medicine and patient care coordination. In her role, she contributes to the treatment of all types of cancers and has developed a special interest in clinical care for benign hematological and women’s health conditions.
Fechner earned a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. Devoted to helping fulfill the medical needs of others, she also served as a certified nursing assistant at Sunrise Senior Living in St. Charles, Illinois, during her master’s studies.
At City of Hope North Shore, she conducts physical examinations, assists with bone marrow biopsies, interprets lab results and coordinates patient education and care. She also assesses and helps manage side effects for patients who require infusion therapy, whether for malignant or benign disease, such as iron deficiencies or thrombocytopenia.
Emily’s goal is to make sure all her patients feel informed and empowered when under her care, while also providing them with the level of compassionate care City of Hope is known for.
