Bo Liu, M.D., joined the medical profession following in the footsteps of his grandfather, who was a village doctor in rural China. Dr. Liu aims to educate his patients about their disease and treatment options to identify the best therapy for their specific case.
As a vascular and interventional radiologist, he uses advanced imaging technology to guide treatment delivered with unprecedented precision and less risk, reducing hospital stays and complications. His clinical experience and research encompass the imaging of blood vessels and applying imaging techniques to guide treatment for cancer and disorders of the veins and arteries.
A physician-scientist, Dr. Liu has co-authored 20 peer-reviewed studies. Before his appointment at City of Hope in 2022, Dr. Liu worked at Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center in California and Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, part of the University of Vermont Health Network.
Outside of work, Dr. Liu enjoys being a father, playing badminton recreationally and volunteering to train the first generation of interventional radiologists in East Africa through the Road2IR organization.
