A perpetual honors student, Dr. Sokolov received a B.S. in chemistry from University of California Los Angeles, then earned her medical degree at University of California San Francisco. She completed her internship at Saint Mary Hospital in Long Beach, California, before returning to University of California Los Angeles where she rose to the level of chief resident.

Dr. Sokolov is experienced in a wide variety of precision radiation systems and equipment, including 3-D conformal radiotherapy, image-guided radiation therapy, body stereotactic radiosurgery and 4-D conformal radiotherapy.

Dr. Sokolov has published a diverse series of papers aimed at improving the effectiveness of various radiation systems.
