Kevin King, M.D., joined City of Hope in August 2023 as a radiation oncologist, where he works closely with the outpatient care team to evaluate and treat patients with a variety of types and stages of cancer. He is particularly focused on oligometastatic disease, applying an accelerated approach to radiation therapy and providing a seamless, patient-focused experience.
Dr. King began his medical career with two years of service in Azerbaijan with the Peace Corps. He then earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois, followed by an intern year at University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences, also in Chicago. While completing a radiation oncology residency at Rush University Medical Center, he served as chief resident and was named Resident of the Year, as well as earning Crain’s Healthcare Hero Award.
As an expert in advanced radiation therapy, he has developed skills that include stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and intensity modified radiation therapy (IMRT).
Dr. King is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the American Society of Radiation Oncology, the American College of Radiation Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the Illinois State Radiologic Society and the Chicago Radiologic Society.
