City of Hope Breast Cancer Forum

Jose Bazan M.D. M.S., is a radiation oncologist and director of breast radiation at City of Hope, specializing in breast cancer care. Inspired by his family’s experience with cancer, he is dedicated to helping patients feel informed and confident in their treatment decisions. Dr. Bazan is also actively involved in research and advancing health equity, particularly for Hispanic communities. 

Veronica C. Jones, M.D., is a breast cancer surgeon at City of Hope who specializes in treating complex breast cancer and advancing patient care. Her research focuses on understanding aggressive breast cancer and addressing disparities, particularly among Black and Hispanic communities. Dr. Jones is dedicated to improving outcomes through innovative research and compassionate, personalized care. 

Irene Kang M.D., is a medical oncologist and medical director of women’s health medical oncology at City of Hope, specializing in breast cancer. She is dedicated to building meaningful relationships with patients and delivering collaborative, personalized care aligned with each patient’s goals. Dr. Kang is also actively involved in research focused on new treatments and the molecular study of breast cancer. 

William J. Gradishar, M.D., is Professor of Medicine and the Betsy Bramsen Professor of Breast Oncology at Northwestern University. He serves as Director of the Maggie Daley Center for Women’s Cancer Care at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Kelly Shanahan, M.D. is is the METAvivor Director of Research, President and is a dedicated patient advocate. She is committed to advancing patient involvement in clinical trial design and research.
