As an interventional radiologist at City of Hope® Cancer Center Phoenix, Aaron Wittenberg, M.D., works with patients to diagnose and treat a wide range of cancer types using innovative advances in image-guided, minimally invasive procedures.
Board-certified in diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology, Dr. Wittenberg has expertise in multiple innovative techniques. These including biopsy techniques for hard-to-reach tumors, computed tomography-guided microwave ablation to destroy cancer cells and advanced chemoembolization and radioembolization for cancers affecting the liver, colon, rectum and bile ducts.
Dr. Wittenberg received his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio and completed an internship at Mercy Health Partners, both in Toledo, Ohio. He also completed his radiology residency and a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Case Western Reserve University’s MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
A member of the Society of Interventional Radiology and the American College of Radiology, Dr. Wittenberg is a physician-scholar and a community health advocate who’s been elected to multiple positions in Phoenix, Arizona, including the Endovascular Procedures Committee at Deer Valley Hospital and the Medical Executive Committee at Honorhealth Deer Valley and John C. Lincoln hospital. He was named a “top doc” in interventional radiology by Phoenix Magazine in 2019, 2022 and 2023.
