Dr. Jaisha Mathew has had a multifaceted career in the field of healthcare, specializing in Interventional Pain Management, Psychiatry, Palliative Care and Addiction Medicine. Her extensive academic background and dedication to patient care have guided her career here at City of Hope.
Dr. Mathew began her medical journey and graduated from medical school in 2008. She then pursued Psychiatry residency at New York Medical College’s Metropolitan Hospital, where she honed her skills in understanding and addressing mental health challenges.
Recognizing the importance of comprehensive care, Dr. Mathew furthered her education and expertise through fellowships in two vital medical disciplines. In 2016, she successfully completed a Palliative Care Fellowship, deepening her understanding of providing compassionate end-of-life care and support for patients and their families. Following this, in 2018, Dr. Mathew completed an Interventional Pain Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, specializing in the management of complex pain syndromes.
Dr. Mathew’s commitment to patient care had also led her to serve as the Hospice Medical Director of VNS (Visiting Nurse Service) in New York in 2017.
One of the hallmarks of Dr. Mathew’s career is her keen interest in addressing complex pain syndromes with multifactorial origins. She specializes in procedural interventions for the treatment of pain. Her dedication to education and patient advocacy continues to make a profound impact have been the cornerstone of her practice at City of Hope.
