Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Hematology & Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation
Lisa Lee, M.D., is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Hematology and Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation at City of Hope. Dr. Lee's journey into medicine began with an interest in biology research during college, which evolved into a desire to see how science could directly help people. She chose oncology due to its research-driven nature and the potential to make significant impacts on patient care.
Dr. Lee is particularly excited about the advancements in precision medicine and the understanding of how the immune system can be harnessed to fight cancer effectively. She was drawn to City of Hope because of its research energy and patient-centered focus, and she believes that the state-of-the-art, cutting-edge research at City of Hope sets it apart from other institutions.
Her philosophy when working with patients is to understand their perspectives and wishes, and she is continually inspired by the resilience and strength of her patients. Dr. Lee wants every patient who walks into City of Hope to feel that they are going to receive the best care possible. To her, hope means feeling powerful and in charge of one's destiny in the face of serious illness.
Outside of work, Dr. Lee enjoys yoga, hiking, and being outdoors. She speaks Mandarin fluently.
