Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Diagnostic Radiology
Mehdi Faraji, M.D., is an interventional and diagnostic radiologist at City of Hope® Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, dedicated to combining advanced imaging technology with minimally invasive procedures to deliver precise, compassionate cancer care. Dr. Faraji's background in biochemistry and bioinformatics sparked an early fascination with the complexities of the human body, but it was his volunteer work caring for underserved patients that inspired him to pursue medicine and make a direct impact on patients' lives.
Specializing in diagnostic and interventional radiology, Dr. Faraji is passionate about using innovative, image-guided techniques to diagnose disease and treat cancer while minimizing the physical burden on patients. His interest in advancing medical technology extends beyond clinical care and into research, including work developing automated mobile resuscitation units for a U.S. Air Force-funded project. He has also contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications, including research published in Biomedicines examining the spectrum of acute cerebrovascular disease in patients with COVID-19.
Dr. Faraji believes outstanding patient care requires both technical precision and proactive advocacy. He strives to help patients feel secure, informed and supported while translating complex medical information into clear, compassionate guidance. Outside of medicine, he enjoys exploring nature, swimming, experiencing local cuisine and spending time with his family. Dr. Faraji speaks Persian (Farsi).
