Michael Caberto, DO, is an experienced hospitalist specializing in cancer care at City of Hope® Orange County’s inpatient hospital. As a hospitalist, he provides comprehensive inpatient care for individuals undergoing cancer treatment, ensuring seamless coordination between medical teams and compassionate attention to each patient’s needs. He believes that he is doing his best work when he fosters a cohesive, team-based approach that where everyone is collaborating to ensure a best practice approach for the patient.
“My goal is to ensure patients feel heard, informed, and empowered during their care journey,” he says. Dr. Caberto has served as hospitalist in Orange County, as well as Dallas and Plano, TX. He has been a clinical preceptor at Marshall B. Ketchum University, participating in the inpatient internal medicine program.
He completed his residency in internal medicine at Bay Area Corpus Christi Medical Center in Corpus Christi, TX. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Western University College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific. He has a special interest in critical care echocardiography and ultrasound.
Born and raised in Orange County, Dr. Caberto brings a deep sense of community to his medical practice. Outside work, he enjoys exploring local coffee shops, snowboarding, and spending time with his family.
