Tydus Thy Thai, MD, is a hospital-based nocturnist who works overnight at City of Hope® Orange County's cancer specialty hospital, addressing patients’ urgent medical issues. This specialty is particularly important for inpatient cancer care, as it ensures continuous, safe treatment and rapid response to acute complications always.
Dr. Thai’s research spans cardiovascular outcomes, diagnostic imaging, pulmonary medicine, and clinical quality improvement. His studies in The American Journal of Cardiology and Abdominal Radiology advanced understanding of how cardiorespiratory fitness impacts mortality in older adults. In national conference presentations, he has also explored topics such as interstitial lung disease management and complex endocrine and infectious cases.
A hospitalist with Kaiser Permanente since 2019, Dr. Thai is noted for his collaborative work with a range of specialists and multidisciplinary teams. He also works to ensure his patients feel heard and that their well-being is prioritized.
He completed his internal medicine residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine.
