Dan Raz, M.D., M.A.S., specializes in esophageal and lung cancer surgery – and in raising public awareness about cancer risks. He blogs regularly and does videos and podcasts on subjects ranging from the importance of lung cancer screening to detect cancer early to better health care for the Latino and Chinese communities.

Dr. Raz joined City of Hope in 2012 after fellowships at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Massachusetts General Hospital and the Mayo Clinic. A graduate of M.I.T., he earned his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania.

A prolific researcher, Dr. Raz has authored dozens of articles, including studies demonstrating survival benefit for patients who choose lung cancer surgery.
