An endocrinologist with 25 years’ experience in her field, Sabrina René, M.D., helps diagnose and treat patients at City of Hope® Cancer Center Atlanta for a wide range of endocrine disorders, including thyroid cancer, hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism.
Although Dr. René joined City of Hope on a full-time basis in January, 2025, she had previously spent a decade serving patients at our Georgia cancer center in the role of consultant. During that time, she also led several endocrinology practices in the state including her solo practice in 2003. Her expertise includes the use of thyroid ultrasound and fine-needle and aspirate biopsy to accurately diagnose conditions of the thyroid, including thyroid nodules.
Dr. René completed her medical degree at Howard University in Washington, D.C. She went on to pursue an internal medicine internship and a residency in the same field at Mayo Clinic-Jacksonville in Florida, then completed a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at Emory University in Atlanta.
A member of The Georgia Society of Endocrinologists, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and Endocrine Society, Dr. René has conducted research on phase 3 and phase 4 clinical trials focusing on conditions such as diabetes, dyslipidemia and hypogonadism. She’s been recognized as a “Top Doctor of America” in endocrinology every year from 2017 to 2024, been listed on Georgia Magazine’s “2024 Best in Georgia” list and received a Mayo Clinic Recognition for Community Service award. She received recognition as a Pinnacle Professional Member of The Continental Who’s Who for contributions to endocrinology in 2024.
