Angelina Fakhoury, M.S.N., R.N., N.E.A.-B.C., is chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services at the City of Hope Cancer Center® Chicago, where she oversees a large, diverse team of nursing professionals dedicated to providing expert, compassionate care for patients undergoing treatment for cancer. With more than a decade of experience in nursing leadership, Fakhoury is committed to both City of Hope’s patient-centered vision and empowering her team to achieve their personal and professional goals.
In her role at City of Hope, Fakhoury oversees all nursing functions and patient services for our Illinois locations. She’s an advocate for community engagement and and inclusion, which includes leading the nursing team to their commitment to screening for social determinants of health.
Under Fakhoury’s leadership, City of Hope Chicago received its third consecutive Magnet® designation – resulting in 12 exemplar categories, a certification given by the American Nurses Credentialing Center to just 9% of medical facilities in the United States in recognition of superlative clinical care, patient safety, nursing engagement and health outcomes. The hospital has also received the Guardian of Excellence and Pinnacle of Excellence awards through Press Ganey for excellence in patient care and patient experience. In addition, the City of Hope Chicago apheresis nursing team was presented with the National Marrow Donor Program’s “Simplify Award” in 2024, which honors the team’s dedication to growing City of Hope Chicago’s marrow donor collection program.
Before joining City of Hope, Fakhoury held leadership positions at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Illinois, and at Loyola Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose Park, Illinois. In these roles, she oversaw nursing and hospital operations and led efforts to improve patient safety, quality of care and service. She has experience working with large teams of 200 staff or more in settings including acute care, inpatient care and emergency medicine, including leading large teams during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fakhoury earned her undergraduate degree in nursing at the Niehoff School of Nursing at Loyola University in Chicago, then received her master’s in nursing from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. She also holds a Nurse Executive, Advanced certification (N.E.A.-B.C.) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
In 2022, Fakhoury was recognized as a “40 Under 40 Emerging Nurse Leader of Illinois” by the American Nurses Association of Illinois, as well as Modern Healthcare’s 40 Under 40 list for 2025.
