Katherine Easthon, M.B.A., is the director of community health and engagement at City of Hope® Cancer Center Chicago. In this leadership role, she leads cross-sector collaborations and community health strategies that advance access to cancer care and promote health equity across Illinois and beyond.
Easthon and her team have been instrumental in creating a wide range of cancer care outreach initiatives. These include programs that raise awareness about cancer prevention and screening — often in collaboration with local libraries and nonprofits — as well as free mammogram and colposcopy services for women who might otherwise be unable to access such care.
She also played a key role in creating the Rural Health Clinical Network, a partnership program with rural health care practices that ensures patients in underserved areas have access to City of Hope’s expert cancer care. Additionally, she led the hospital’s Community Health Needs Assessment, which partners with community members to understand how best to improve patient care and support.
Easthon has held multiple roles at City of Hope Chicago over the past 15 years, including managing outpatient operations and patient retention and contributing to a variety of business development projects. In all these positions, she has dedicated herself to improving the patient experience for those undergoing and recovering from cancer treatment.
An active community member, Easthon routinely gives presentations on the oncology care gap and is a board member of the Kenosha Community Health Center. She holds a Six Sigma Greenbelt certification in problem-solving and earned her Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at the University of Wisconsin, Parkside.
