Cornelia Banciu-Odell, M.D.
- Internal Medicine
Associate Clinical Professor, Division of Hospital Medicine, Department of Medicine
Medicine is my passion and my calling. It challenges and inspires me and fills me with awe. I cannot imagine life without it and I cannot imagine doing anything more rewarding.
Cornelia Banciu-Odell, M.D., believes her patients' mental state, as well as their backgrounds, cultures, beliefs and fears are every bit as important as their physical health. It is a philosophy that has guided her through more than two decades as a physician.
Specializing in family practice, Dr. Banciu-Odell received her medical training at Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iasi, Romania. Upon arriving in the U.S., she also completed a residency in internal medicine at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, California.
Dr. Banciu-Odell has held hospitalist positions in Southern California and Arizona. She's focused her research on the early diagnosis and treatment of mood disorders, and their impact on treatment and prognosis of illness. She chose City of Hope® for its patient-centered approach and “love of humanity.”
