Elaine Wheat Dawson, Psy.D., is a clinical health psychologist who supports patients of all ages. While she works with a variety of presenting concerns, some areas of professional interest include helping people cope with pain and increasing awareness of available supports to adolescent and young adult patients.
Dr. Wheat Dawson received her psychology doctorate from Azusa Pacific University Graduate School of Psychology, then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at City of Hope. She continued to work at City of Hope as a consultant and assisted with initiatives for Adolescent and Young Adult patients before becoming a full-time faculty member.
Her first exposure to City of Hope happened long before that, however, as she started donating platelets at the City of Hope Blood Donor Center when she was in high school and college! Dr. Wheat Dawson is delighted to be part of the Department of Supportive Care Medicine, working alongside passionate, dedicated colleagues.
