About the Spirit of Life Award

The Spirit of Life® Award is City of Hope’s highest honor, given to deserving leaders every year. Recipients have a track record of professional and humanitarian accomplishments that have made a difference in the lives of others.

The award is modeled after the original bronze statue crafted by artist Robert Russin that sat atop the fountain at the entrance to City of Hope’s original Los Angeles campus. The statue celebrates the concept of family and reflects City of Hope’s longstanding commitment to holistic and compassionate care.
