Dr. Yap is passionate about all the advances being made in the rapidly-changing field of medical oncology. She is excited to be able to offer her patients the latest personalized treatment with the goal of balancing treatment benefit and side effects. She makes it a priority to build relationships with her patients while guiding them through the complexity of cancer care.
Dr. Yap received her medical degree from Queen’s University of Belfast. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at York Hospital in Pennsylvania, where she was chosen as chief resident. She went on to complete a fellowship in hematology and oncology at LAC+USC Medical Center in Southern California.
Prior to joining City of Hope, she was an assistant professor at Keck School of Medicine USC. She is board-certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine.
