At a very young age, Dr. Krushangi Patel was inspired by a compassionate and highly skilled physician who supported her family through their medical crisis. This experience shaped her into a highly engaged practitioner who prioritizes not only her patients' physical well-being but also their emotional and spiritual needs. Today, her approach to care integrates these aspects in all treatment plans she develops with her patients as she guides them from diagnosis to survivorship.
Dr. Patel received her undergraduate and medical doctorate degrees from the University of Missouri–Kansas City. She is an award-winning National Institutes of Health Intramural Research Training Fellow and U.S. Food and Drug Administration/American Society for Clinical Oncology Fellows’ Day Award recipient; she completed her residency at Banner-University Medical Center Phoenix and a fellowship with University of Arizona Cancer Center in Tucson.
Dr. Patel joined City of Hope because of its national reputation for pioneering clinical studies and is excited to bridge this world-renowned care to the community. Previously, she worked with City of Hope’s partner, the Translational Genomics Research Institute, during her Phoenix residency, where she developed a strong interest in precision medicine as well as GI and pancreatic cancers.
Dr. Patel has published and presented more than two dozen research studies. She continues leading and participating in a wide range of community service initiatives guided by her deep commitment to health equity and health literacy.
