Maria L. Parayno, M.D., is an assistant clinical professor in City of Hope’s Division of Nuclear Medicine within the Department of Diagnostic Radiology.
Dr. Parayno earned her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed an internship in general surgery at Stanford University Hospitals & Clinics in California, followed by a dual residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of California, San Francisco and Case Medical Center. She completed her training with a fellowship in nuclear medicine through the Harvard‐Brigham & Women’s Joint Program in Boston.
Board-certified in both diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine, Dr. Parayno joined City of Hope in 2016, where she practices as a diagnostic radiologist and nuclear medicine physician. Before that, she served as director of nuclear medicine at Dignity Health Hospitals of Greater Sacramento. Dr. Parayno is a member of professional organizations including the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, and others.
