Ameer Ahmed, M.D., is a hospital medicine specialist and assistant clinical professor of medicine at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, where he provides care for patients experiencing a wide range of health issues caused by cancer and its treatments.
Dr. Ahmed’s philosophy is founded on listening to his patients’ concerns, values and priorities and providing individualized treatment. He finds it inspiring to work in a collaborative environment where compassion and intellectual curiosity come together.
After earning his medical degree from St. George’s University in the West Indies, Dr. Ahmed completed a family medicine residency at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, California, serving as chief resident during his last year. He completed his training with a fellowship in hospital medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Board-certified in family medicine, Dr. Ahmed has published research in the Journal of Hospital Medicine and is also a member of organizations including the Society of Hospital Medicine. In addition to English, he speaks some Urdu and Hindi.
