Brad Nakamura, M.D., is a gynecologic oncologist at City of Hope in Orange County, who combines advanced surgical care and systemic cancer therapies with a commitment to building meaningful, long-term relationships with patients and their families. Dr. Nakamura partners with patients to develop personalized treatment strategies that reflect their individual goals and priorities, incorporating current treatment advances while providing compassionate support throughout their care.
Dr. Nakamura specializes in treating ovarian, uterine/endometrial, cervical and vulvar cancers. His expertise also includes robotic surgery, fertility-sparing cancer treatments and regional therapies such as hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) and pressurized intraperitoneal aerosolized chemotherapy (PIPAC). His research interests include ovarian cancer, regional therapies, disparities in cancer treatment and enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS). His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he received the City of Hope ACGME Trainee of the Year Award.
Dr. Nakamura chose to remain at City of Hope after completing his fellowship because of its commitment to exceptional patient care, collaborative environment and opportunities to continue his research. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, hiking local trails, catching waves at the beach, staying active and cooking together at home.
