Brian Sworder, M.D., Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Division of Lymphoma within the Department of Hematology and Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, where he also holds a research appointment in the Department of Molecular Diagnostics and Experimental Therapeutics.
Dr. Sworder earned his medical degree at Boston University (BU) School of Medicine, where he simultaneously completed a Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine through a parternship between BU and the National Institutes of Health. During this time, he also participated in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute-NIH Research Scholars Program, then went on to complete an internal medicine residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and a fellowship at Stanford University in California.
As a lymphoma specialist, Dr. Sworder is dedicated to collaborative, compassionate and leading-edge care for his patients. He also works in City of Hope’s Beckman Research Institute as a physician-scientist studying topics including the potential of novel molecular techniques such as circulating tumor DNA to help understand how lymphoid malignancies respond to treatment.
