Jung “Jay” W. Kim, M.D., is a assistant clinical professor at City of Hope® Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center in pulmonary and critical care medicine whose career is defined by a deep commitment to patient-centered care, medical education, and community service. Dr. Kim’s journey into medicine began with a strong foundation in human biology and public health at Cornell University, followed by his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University. His passion for teaching and mentorship was evident early on, as he tutored medical students and led initiatives to support underserved populations.
Dr. Kim completed his internal medicine residency and served as chief resident at Olive View–UCLA Medical Center, where he also earned distinction in medical education. His clinical interests include critical care, pulmonary medicine, and improving healthcare delivery through quality improvement research. He has contributed to numerous studies on COVID-19 management, chronic disease protocols, and endocrine disorders, with publications in respected journals such as Pituitary and Proceedings of UCLA Health.
Outside City of Hope, Dr. Kim has volunteered extensively—from crisis hotlines and trauma support to health screenings for immigrant communities. His dedication to compassionate care and medical equity continues to shape his approach to medicine.
