Anesthesiologist William Hsu, M.D., M.B.A., is a critical care medicine specialist and assistant clinical professor at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte. Dr. Hsu was inspired to go into medicine after first volunteering as an emergency medicine technician (EMT) in college.
Dr. Hsu received his medical degree from University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry and cell biology at Rice University in Houston, and a Master of in Business Administration at Universityi of Texas at Dallas. After receiving his M.D., he completed a residency in anesthesiology and a fellowship in critical care medicine and advanced training in point-of-care medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Board-certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Hsu has taught advanced courses in point-of-care ultrasound at medical conferences. He is also board-certification eligible in critical care medicine (from the American Board of Anesthesiology) and critical care echocardiography (from the National Board of Echocardiography).
In his free time, Dr. Hsu enjoys cooking, reading and traveling.
