Trevor Lim, M.D., chose his specialty in radiation oncology because it gives him the chance to eradicate cancer with pinpoint precision and minimal side effects for his patients. Helping people with cancer live longer, healthier lives in this way drives his work as a physician.
Dr. Lim went to medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, then completed his residency in internal medicine at the David Grant USAF Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. This was followed by a fellowship in hematology-oncology at UCLA Medical Center and a residency in radiation oncology at Emory University’s Winship Cancer Institute. With the unique combination of board certifications in radiation oncology and medical oncology, Dr. Lim maintains a mastery of the latest advances in disparate fields of cancer care.
A Southern California local, he retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2020 with the rank of lieutenant colonel after a distinguished 22-year career, during which he ascended to become chief of radiation oncology at the San Antonio Military Medical Center. The Air Force has recognized him with its Commendation Medal and two Meritorious Service Awards. In 2010, Dr. Lim deployed to Craig Joint Theater Hospital at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
