Why did you choose your specialty? Hematology and oncology is a rewarding, challenging and rapidly-evolving field. I look forward to the challenge of treating cancer, and would be honored to be one of the professionals making dramatic advances in new drug development and using these in clinical practice.

Why did you choose City of Hope? City of Hope is one of the preeminent cancer hospitals in the country, held in high regards amongst the cancer community. The resources, training, and connections available at City of Hope will be be truly invaluable for the future. Furthermore, being a part of City of Hope allows me to return home, nearly a decade after leaving family and friends. 

Why did you choose your specialty? I have been involved with hematologic research for many years and majored in immunology and molecular genetics in college. I also experienced cancer intimately with my mother’s breast cancer diagnosis. Helping patients get through this life-changing experience is why I got into medicine and I hope to help them with their cancer diagnosis as much as possible.

Why Did You Choose City of Hope: As a fellow I seek to develop clinical expertise in hematology and medical oncology and learn the skills required of a clinical investigator. I was optimistic about City of Hope's ability to help me achieve those goals. 

Why Did You Choose Your Specialty: I felt that hematology and medical oncology suited me best of all the sub-specialties of internal medicine. To work with individuals and help guide them through uncertainty to reach milestones is highly rewarding. Also, the fields are constantly evolving which appeals to my curiosity.

Why did you choose City of Hope? I believe, with the rapid influx of state-of-the-art medicines being added to our arsenal in the battle against cancer, there is hope that we can shift the current paradigm in the decades to come. I chose City of Hope because it is an institution at the forefront of this research. 

Why did you choose your specialty? I discovered my passion lies in the field of hematology/oncology during my tenure at MD Anderson Cancer Center. As a researcher, I realized the power of pioneering technologies that can improve upon the existing standard of care. During fellowship, I hope to build upon my prior clinical experiences and research background to achieve my goal of pursuing a career as an independent investigator and clinical researcher.
