Elizabeth Behrens Conner, M.D., is a gastrointestinal medical oncologist dedicated to advancing compassionate, research-driven cancer care. From an early curiosity about how the human body works to a deeply personal connection through her grandfather’s cancer diagnosis, Dr. Conner found her calling in oncology. This blend of scientific fascination and personal experience inspires her to help patients live longer, feel better and maintain meaningful quality of life.
Her work focuses on integrating locoregional therapies with systemic immunotherapy for hepatocellular carcinoma, with the goal of improving treatment sequencing and extending clinical benefit for patients whose disease has progressed. She collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams across interventional radiology, surgical oncology, radiology, pathology and palliative care to deliver coordinated, evidence-based care.
Dr. Conner has been recognized for her research, including an interview with GI Oncology Now highlighting her first-author abstract on predictive biomarkers in liver cancer, as well as the Best Oral Presentation Award at the 23rd International Conference on Hematology and Blood Disease.
She completed her medical degree at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, followed by a residency at Rush University Medical Center and fellowship training in hematology and oncology at the University of California San Diego.
