Jack Dubois, M.D., is a palliative care physician whose commitment to medicine was shaped by a family experience with his uncle. He watched his uncle face the challenges of head and neck cancer. This influenced his decision to pursue a career in medicine focused on helping patients through serious illness. This family experience was formative and continues to inform his approach to patient care.
He is drawn to continuity and depth of long-term patient relationships, particularly in oncology. Dr. Dubois works with patients and families to navigate complex decision making, with an emphasis on communication and addressing ethical issues in the decision-making process.
His clinical interests include pain and symptom management, advance care planning and ensuring goal-concordant care throughout patients’ cancer journey.
Dr. Dubois earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in the West Indies. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Kaiser Permanente, Fontana, California, and a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the University of Nevada, Reno.
